FIRST HALF DISPLAY GIVES WANDERERS THE POINTS
Only five games took place as the 2016/17 heads to a close, with only one League issue still remaining to be settled.
In the Premier Division a good first half performance saw them go in at the break three goals up after goals by Vaughan Stevenson, Andrew Skipper and Dan Cook. A young Bungay side, to their credit, never gave up and gained some reward in the second period when Flavio Ascenco reduced the arrears, but that was the end of the scoring from two clubs that will hope to have better fortune next season.
The 1A season was brought to a close with Longdale Rovers defeating Newsman Celtic 3-1 thanks to goals from Lloyd Nobbs, Jamie Platten and Josh Castillo-Hall.
The other games played were in 2B. Champions Norwich CEYMS entertained a North Walsham side that needed to win to finish as runners up, but it was the home side that took the honours, winning by the odd goal of nine. All is not lost for Walsham though as despite second placed Hellesdon finishing the season with a 7-1 (Cameron Beezer 3, Mac Gee, Liam Robinson, Matthew Storey, Louis Fulcher) win over East Tuddenham, a win in their final two games, will see them finish runners up. Hethersett Ath Res completed their season with a 3-1 home win over Barracks FC
Just a reminder to you all the final of this years League Cup, takes place at the FDC on Friday 12th May at 7.30pm, and looks set to be a cracker with 1A Champions Norman Wanderers taking on an in form Schoolhouse from the Premier Division. Don’t miss it!!!
