MALLET HAMMERS FIVE AS GROVE GO TOP
The Grove are the new leaders of the Premier division after showing no mercy to ten man Salhouse Rovers. Sam Mallet helped himself to five goals, whilst Shaun Brown 2, Lewis Greening and Calvin Pond also hit the target as their side took over from previous leaders Silver Fox, who went down 3-1 at Marlborough for whom Brock 2, and Metcalf scored. Acle Rangers scored four times at home but still ended up pointless after visitors Wymondham Rangers hit six. Quebec beat AFC Wanderers 2-0, whilst Poringland came from two down to gain a 2-2, (Simpson and Reynolds) draw at Dog House. Norman Wanderers Res are back on top of 1A after a 4-2 win at Unthank Arms whilst Hellesdon and North Walsham shared six goals to take a point each. Hainford YCOB gained a point in a 4-4, (Lee Wade 2, Shaun Kelly 2) draw at Windmill Wanderers. Rose Valley's good 3-0 win over Norwich Ceyms was marred by a serious injury to Jason Nobbs. The league wish him a speedy and successful recovery. In 1B, Unicorns are back on top after winning 3-1 at Prince of Denmark. Previous leaders Norfolk CCSC went down 2-1 at Costessey Sports, but Aylsham Sunday are now fourth after winning 4-0 at Manor Park. Sprowston Wanderers won 4-1 at Mattishall, whilst goals by Childerhouse 2, Allen and Bee gave Earlham Utd a 5-1 win at Drayton. Haig FC went back to North Norfolk with three points after beating Hillside OB 2-1. There were goals galore in 2A. Leaders Norman Wanderers "A" beat Deopham 3-1, Hawker scoring for Deopham, whilst I saw Green Man put seven past Acle Wanderers (well it was four when I left). Bottom side Plasterers Arms grabbed eight when beating Coachmakers Arms. Aslacton scored six times against Spixworth Utd and are in third place with two games in hand on the top two. Reepham won 3-1 at The Griffen and Vale Longo drew 2-2 with The Castlegate. It may have been top versus bottom in 2B, but there was only one goal in it as Old Catton overcame Thorpe Rovers by the odd goal of nine. After having a player sent off after twenty minutes Ribs of Beef found themselves four down by half time to Sprowston Rovers who went on to win the game 5-2. A penalty proved to be the winner as St Faiths won 3-2 at PL Rangers, whilst Acle Rangers Res had a good 3-1 win at Horsford SC. Poringland Wanderers Res grabbed their second win of the season, beating The Gordon 4-2. 3A leaders DCS Rapid had a narrow 1-0 win over Temple Bar. Heartsease Casuals are second after beating Bystanders 4-2 and Stoke's good run continued with a 3-0 win at Newsman Celtic. Dereham Wanderers took three points from old rivals Upton beating them 4-1whilst The Otter enjoyed a 7-1 success at Mad Moose. Sporting Longdale leapfrog The Reindeer after beating them 1-0. 3B leaders Mischief got back to winning ways after beating Wilco Fast Fit 5-0, but Bayer FC are close behind after winning 5-2 at Moles Rest. A 3-0 victory over Dynamo Denmark saw Sporting Farmhouse move up to fourth, whilst Taverham had a narrow 1-0 win at Wymondham Res. Hethersett Res beat Aylsham res 3-1 whilst the game between Unicorns Res and AFC Rompers was goal less. Wellington Pink Uns march on in 4A after a 5-1 home win over Kings Arms. Sprowston Royal Oak are up to second as goals by James Hazel, Tom Butcher and Chris Bowles 2, secured a 4-1 win over Earlham Colney. Norwich Airport were delighted with their 3-1 win over Hellesdon Res and Dancing Farmers praised opponents AFC Mousehold after beating them 4-0. Hockering smacked eight passed Silver Fox Res and Brickmakers had a narrow 1-0 win over bottom side Sporting Longdale Res. An amazing game at in 4B Hingham saw the home side draw 5-5 with Maid Marian. The point for the visitors saw them go back to the top of the table as previous leaders AFC Oak went down 3-2 at Constitution. Salhouse Res had a 4-1 home win over Earlham Utd Res and Spixworth Sunday Res won 2-1 at Felmingham. Freethorpe beat Heartsease FC 2-1 and well done to Wendene Wanderers, who gained their first point of the season after drawing 3-3 at Hethersett "A"
BUSMEN GO GOAL CRAZY TO TOPPLE LEADERS
The heavy rain of the past few days took its toll on the weekends fixtures as fifteen games were called off due to pitch conditions. In the Premier division Wymondham Rangers dealt a blow to league leaders Silver Fox, beating them 3-1. The Grove moved to within three points of the top after a 4-1 home win over Acle Rangers, and AFC Wanderers had a good 3-1 win over Norman Wanderers. Marlborough got back to winning ways at Poringland overcoming the home side 5-3. The battle of the top two in 1A saw Norwich Busmen hammer nine without reply against Norman Wanderers Res. Busmen top the table by two points from Norwich Ceyms, who beat Hellesdon Athletic 2-1. Lower down, Hainford YCOB gained a valuable 2-1 win at home to Unthank Arms. 1B leaders Norfolk CCSC had a comfortable 5-0 home win over Hillside OB and Unicorns are second courtesy of a 7-2 win over Manor Park. Prince of Denmark came back from North Norfolk with all three points after beating Haig FC 3-2. Leaders of 2A are Norman Wanderers "A" who had a good 4-3 victory at Spixworth Utd. In 2B, Ribs of Beef had a narrow 1-0 win at Horsford FC, whilst all credit goes to PL Rangers, The Gordon and referee R.Drake, who after turning up to find The Gordon's pitch had been declared waterlogged, jumped into their cars and drove to the PL Rangers ground at Horsford Manor, to fulfil the fixture. Well done to all involved. The Gordon won the game 3-1. DCS Rapid top 3A, after winning 4-2 at The Reindeer, whilst Stoke FC will be kicking themselves for dropping a point against Dereham Wanderers after leading 2-0. Quebec Rovers brought the recent good run of The Grove to an abrupt halt when they thumped seven without reply against the Premier Division's second placed side at Brittania Barracks. The Silver Fox stay top after a 1-1 draw at Acle Rangers, and Marlborough's poor run of league form continued as they went down 1-0 at home to Norman Wanderers. Dog House got their first win of the season, beating Wymondham Rangers 2-1. 1A leaders Norman Wanderers Res went down 2-1 at Windmill Wanderers and are now only a point ahead of Norwich Busmen, who had a 5-0 win over Rose Valley Utd. Unthank Arms continue to climb the table after beating North Walsham 2-1. It wasn't a good day for the leaders in 1B either as Norfolk CCSC, suffered a 3-1 defeat at Prince of Denmark. Aylsham Sunday are up to second after a 4-1 win at Drayton whilst Costessey Sunday hammered nine past Mattishall YCOB. Two goals by Stuart Catchpole and two more by Mercer and Goodale helped Deopham to a good 4-2 win at The Griffen, whilst Plasterers Arms beat Spixworth Utd 2-1 and The Castlegate beat Coachmakers Arms by the odd goal in seven. In 2B, Nichols, Gashut, Riches and an own goal were the scorers as Horsford SC stopped Old Catton's perfect start to the season in its tracks, beating the home side 4-2. Second placed Sprowston Rovers hit St Faiths for six and Ribs of Beef beat Acle Rangers Res 4-2. Spixworth Sunday had a good 5-3 win over The Gordon. Justin Cameron found the net as Stoke FC won 1-0 at 3A leaders Upton, whilst second placed Heartsease Casuals earned a point in a 2-2 draw at Sporting Longdale. Newsman Celtic are third courtesy of a 4-0 win over Temple Bar. Two goals for Nathan Savage and one apiece for Adam Knights and Matt Wilson helped The Reindeer to a 4-2 win over Mad Moose for whom Jason Downing scored twice. DCS Rapid had a 2-0 (Steve Rudder and Dolf tr Lintelo) home win over Bystanders. In 3B leaders Mischief had a comfortable 4-0 home win over Taverham United but second placed Wymondham Res went down 3-1 at Moles Rest. Sporting Farmhouse thumped Aylsham Res 8-1 and Bayer FC continued their recent good form, winning 6-1 at Unicorns Res. There seems to be no stopping Wellington Pink Uns at the top of 4A as they won 8-2 at Hockering. There was a good solo effort by Jake Newstead and another goal by Liam Doyle as Hellesdon Ath Res went down 2-1 at Sprowston Royal Oak. A Chris Brazell hat trick helped Dancing Farmers to a 5-1 win over Kings Arms and Earlham Colney had a convincing 9-2 win over Sporting Longdale Res. Brickmakers hit five without reply against AFC Mousehold and Norwich Airport won 2-1 at home to Silver Fox Res. Jamie Clarkson hit four as Maid Marion won 8-4 at Salhouse Rovers Res and now lead 4B by two points from AFC Oak who won 2-1 at Hingham thanks to goals from Peter Finbow and Adam Bridge. Freethorpe have risen quietly up to third spot after a 3-2 win at Felmingham but a ninth goal of the season for Ben Lewis was not enough to take all the points for Heartsease FC as they drew 1-1 at Constitution FC. Earlham Utd Res won 4-2 at home to Wendene and Hethersett Res drew 2-2 at home to Spixworth Sunday Res.
