TEAM WITHDRAWS AFTER ONE GAME

After just one game in the Norwich Sunday League, in which they lost 11-0, Aldborough Lions have withdrawn from Division 4A. Their records are now deleted

BRETT BASHES AFC

Richard Brett helped himself to four goals as Quebec Rovers stunned AFC Wanderers at Eaton Park. The current champions left the Senior Cup holders, and everyone else in the Premier Division, in no doubt that they intend to hang on to their title. Jordan Scotter and Matt Elwin were also on target as Quebec ran out 6-1 winners. Cushion scored the home side's goal in a game where I thought referee John Coates was first class. Acle Rangers top the division after a third straight win, 2-0 at Norman Wanderers and Dog House are third after a 4-2 (Reeves 2, Armstrong, Timms) win at Norwich Busmen. Marlborough scored the only goal of the game as they beat Silver Fox.

North Walsham have maximum points at the top of 1A after beating Windmill Wanderers 2-0. Reepham Town's 4-2 win over Norman Wanderers Res saw them move into second spot, whilst at Hainford YCOB, Nick Mace was on target for the home side as they drew 1-1 with Vale Longo. Jason Drake scoring for the visitors. In 1B, what a difference a week makes. After being thumped by nine goals at St Faiths last Sunday, Haig FC gained quick revenge when they won the return fixture 3-1 thanks to two Glenn Thurston goals and another from Wayne Cutting. There was a similar story too for league leaders Norfolk CCSC. After winning 3-2 at Sprowston Rovers last week, the return fixture saw Sprowston smash six without reply. What an unpredictable game football is.

The Castlegate top 2A after an 8-2 win at The Stores, whilst DCS Rapid gained a good 3-2 win at Stoke FC. Dussingdale Rovers continued their good start to the season, beating Norman Wanderers A 4-1. In 2B Spixworth Sunday made it three from three, winning 5-1 at Wymondham Res and an amazing game at Acle Rangers Res saw the home side share ten goals with visitors Sporting Farmhouse. John Norman scored for PL Rangers away to Taverham United, but the home side scored late in the game to take a point and a Tyrone Parrish penalty gave Poringland Res a 1-0 win at The Gordon.

Hockering's 3-1 win at Caseys Cosmos sees them continue at the top of 3A and despite goals by Zak Virgin and Steven Bramble, Dancing Farmers went down 4-2 at home to second placed Wellington Pink Uns. The divisions other game saw Newsman Celtic defeat Temple Bar by the odd goal of five. In 3B, two goals by Sam Brewster followed by others from Mark Ratcliffe, Wes Barton and Robert Bridge helped AFC Oak to a good 5-1 victory at Freethorpe. Jason Perry, Kyle Appleton, Daniel Bruce and Lee Spencer all found the net as Heartsease FC beat Maid Marian 4-0 and Moles Rest came back from Aylsham Res with a 4-3 win under their belts. Earlham Utd Res and Unicorns Res took a point each in a 2-2 draw.

Riverside Rovers remain unbeaten in 4A after a 2-0 home win over New Buckenham, whilst there were first victories of the season for Earlham Colney, 4-3 at Caseys Cosmos Res and Temples Property 3-2 at Sporting Longdale Res for whom Jamie Platten and Matt Atherton scored. In 4B, Salhouse Rovers had the days biggest win, 10-0 at Spixworth Res thanks to goals by Oliver Harper 4, Neil Woolner 3, Leroy Peter, Chris Newton and Kel Haywood. Windmill Elite won 3-0 at Hethersett Res and Wendene Wanderers recorded a 2-0 victory at Dereham Utd. Tom Frost 2, and Adam Hamment scored the goals that gave the young Drayton side a 3-2 win at One Love United, a result that sees them top the 4B table.

In the County Cups, there were wins in the Senior Cup for Poringland Wanderers, Wymondham Rangers, The Green Man, Unicorns, Aslacton, Aylsham Sunday and Catton. The Reindeer, Deopham, Bayer FC and Ribs Rovers progressed in the Intermediate Cup, whilst Eaton Young Boys and the Bell Inn went through in the Junior Cup. Well done to all.

COUNTY CUPS

A reminder to all clubs playing in this weekends County Cup competitions, that you must still phone your clubs result through to the league secretary as well as the County FA. Good luck to all clubs taking part.

WYMONDHAM & ACLE SET EARLY PACE AFTER VICTORIES

Wymondham Rangers continued their good start to the season when they disposed of newly promoted Costessey Sports 5-1. They lead the Premier division on goal difference from Acle Rangers who came from behind  with two late goals to beat The Grove after Sean Brown had given the visitors the lead. Two goals apiece for Josh Farrow and Vaughan Stevenson gave Poringland a 4-0 victory at a young Norman Wanderers, whilst Marlborough had a 2-1 win at old rivals Dog House. Silver Fox and Norwich Busmen took a point each after a 2-2 draw.

North Walsham are the only team in 1A with maximum points after a 1-0 win at Green Man, and Fiveways are second despite being held to a 1-1 draw at Vale Longo for whom Jacob Read scored. Chris Sandle and Nick Belgrave were on target as Eaton FC beat Aslacton 2-0 and Hellesdon Athletic had a 3-1 home win over Norman Wanderers Res. Windmill Wanderers are off and running, beating Reepham 3-2 and Horsford SC crossed the A140 to come back from Hainford YCOB with a 1-1 draw. Hillside OB will be encouraged after gaining a very good 2-2 draw with Catton in 1B. Norfolk CCSC top the division after winning 3-2 at Sprowston Rovers and Earlham United got points on the board after a 4-2 home win over Unicorns. St Faiths produced the biggest score in the division, hitting nine without reply against Haig FC.

Two sides have maximum points in 2A. The Castlegate edged out The Griffen 3-2, whilst Deopham scored five (Quinsey 2, Stannard, Parry & Etheridge) at home Norman Wanderers A. Justin Cameron scored twice as Stoke got off the mark at Acle Wanderers. Dussingdale Rovers beat The Stores 5-2 and Upton won 3-1 at River Garden. The Otter had a good away win, 3-2 at DCS Rapid. Bayer have made a good start to life in 2B. They followed up last weeks victory with a 5-0 win at Ribs Rovers. there was a hat trick for Ramin Fakour-Zaker as Rose Tavern put six past Wymondham Res. Bennison, Robinson and an own goal completed the scoring. Spixworth Sunday beat Sporting Farmhouse 3-2, Bradford and Palgrave for Sporting and Jordan Rocastle was again on target for PL Rangers, scoring twice as they beat Acle Rangers Res 3-1, Liam Baker scoring the other. The Gordon won 3-0 at Hethersett Ath whilst the game between Poringland Res and Taverham United was abandoned due to injury.

Hockering top 3A after beating Heartsease Casuals 7-2 and are joined by Mad Moose whose good start to the season continued as they beat The Reindeer 3-2. Sprowston Royal Oak won 5-1 (Doyle 2, D Maxey 2, & Halliday)  against Newsman Celtic, whilst Caseys Cosmos gained their first victory, 5-2 at Dancing Farmers. Sporting Longdale were 3-0 winners at home to Temple Bar. In 3B, Freethorpe have maximum points after winning 1-0 at Earlham Utd Res and head AFC Oak who won 2-0 at Aylsham Res. Heartsease FC began their season with a 3-0 win over Moles Rest and despite a goal from Nick Parker, Maid Marian went down 2-1 home to Hingham. It was good to hear the Maid Marian secretary praising the performance of the referee P.Cutter despite his sides disappointment.

There were ten goals for New Buckenham as they beat Temples Properties and Riverside Rovers scored four without reply at Earlham Colney. There was  a serious injury to a Sporting Longdale Res player at Silver Fox Res, but the game was completed and Sporting won 4-2. There were also away wins for Eaton Young Boys, 3-1 at Caseys Cosmos Res and Constable Crusaders, 4-1 at DEF FC. Briston Wanderers are top of 4B after a 7-2 victory over Bell Inn. Another league newcomer, One Love Utd are second after a 2-0 win at home to Windmill Elite. Dereham Utd had their first victory, 3-2 at home to Spixworth Res and Salhouse Res drew 3-3 at home to Chapelfield Rovers. Drayton Sunday came from two down to take a point in a 3-3 draw with Wendene Wanderers. Richard Tubb, Tom Frost and Oliver Sadd scoring for Drayton.
