LEAGUE WELCOMES NEW SPONSOR

The Norwich Sunday League will kick off next season with a sponsorship boost after football-loving businessmen Clive and Stuart Secker pledged their backing for two years.

The father and son from a Hellesdon-based copier and digital print solutions specialists, will be teaming up with the Evening News to sponsor the league which will be known as the Evening News Copy IT Norwich Sunday League. League chairman Paul Ballard said: “We are delighted to welcome Copy IT as joint sponsors.
“In these difficult economic times we really appreciate their backing. It’s also highly important that they are keen on football as well.” Copy IT managing director Clive was a keen amateur footballer around 40 years ago, playing right half for teams such as Dereham Hobbies and Dereham Wanderers. His son Stuart, sales director, has turned out for Dereham Town and Watton, and once achieved a remarkable feat in the Norwich Sunday League, when he scored nine second half goals for Poringland Wanderers against Hellesdon High School Old Boys. After coming on as as a substitute  at half time when the scores were 1-1  his one-man show secured a 10-1 win for the team then managed by current league secretary Ben Casey.
