It was league cup weekend for teams in Prem, Div 1 and Div 2. Game of the day was at the Fountain where Woolpack took on Acle. Normal time and extra time couldn’t separate the sides, the game ending 2-2 with Woolpack winning 6-5 on penalties. 2nd in the Prem played top of Div 2 as Horsford took on Easton, in Easton’s own word, they were taught a lesson as Horsford ran out 7-1 winners. Another Prem v Div 2 game saw Mischief beat Eaton Beehive 4-1. in a game that was closer than the end result would suggest. There were 2 Prem v Div 1 sides games, with the Prem teams coming out on top in both. Aslacton travelled to Windmill and came away with a 5-0 win and Farmhouse moved into the second round after a 4-1 win away at Vale Longo. The top 2 of Div 1 were drawn to play each other and thanks to goals from Craig Boyles 2 and Daniel Bareham, Silver Fox overcame AFC Norwich 3-0. FC Viking scored 6 without reply in their game against Norman Wanderers, Jonny Billing with a hattrick, Harry Shawyer, Jordan Swann and Paul Duarte with the goals. DCS Rapid and Barracks severed up 11 goals between them with DCS winning by the odd goal. Newsman Celtic had an excellent win against Hethersett, who are a league above them, 3-0 and AG Athletic downed Bungay Town 4-2, AG being Div 2 and Bungay Div 1.
In league action, there were only 3 games in Div 3. William IV closed the gap at the top of the table to 1 point as they beat Sporting Rackheath 4-1, Thomas Blanch 2, Connor Delaney and Tyler Riley. Long Stratton are 3 points further behind after scoring 5 with no reply against Cellar House. Eaton Park Corinthians and Cringleford shared 7 goals with Eaton Park winning 4-3 thanks to goals from Alex Fletcher, Joshua Tuttle, Tendros Amsalu and William Clayton.
With Marriott out of action in Div 4, Yelverton took the opportunity to move within 2 points of the league leaders as Thomas Knight scored all 4 goals in their 4-2 against Freethorpe. Jacob Yallop scored the only goal of the game as Felthorpe moved up to 4th in the league in their game against Sprowston Rovers. Wensum Helles produced, which some would say, a shock in beating Tavern Old Boys 3-1. Congratulations to Salhouse who picked up their first point of the season with a 3-3 draw again Eaton Beehive Reserves, Christopher Terrington 2 and Adam Rose scoring for Salhouse.
