In the Prem, Schoolhouse made it 2 wins from 2 after a 2-0 win against newly promoted Mischief, Shaun Taylor scoring both goals. Poringland were brought down to earth after their win last week by Horsford going down 6-0, Ricky Bevis, Connor Green, Aaron Kay, Dan Mace, Bryn Mullen and Dean Matthewson all scoring. Farmhouse played their first game of the season, beating Aslacton by the odd goal in 3 and Phoenix, also playing their first game of the season scored 4 of the 5 goals at home to Middle Green.
Norman Wanderers are the leaders in Division 1 beating MC Rovers 5-2, FC Viking moved up to second after Ian Beeden, Sean Ray and Harry Shawyer scoring in a 3-0 win against Hethersett. AFC Norwich started their season with a hard fought 1-0 win over Marlborough whilst a Marcus Strak goal was not enough for Bungay Town as they went down 3-1 at Silver Fox. Vale Longo and DCS Rapid played out a 1-1 draw, Callum Sutch scoring for the home side.
Eaton Beehive are the early pacesetters in Division 2 and are yet to concede a goal. After last week’s 1-0 this week they travelled to East Tuddenham and came away with a 7-0 win, Michael Adcock 2, Lewis Ellis 2, Daniel Hawkie 2 and Lewis Howes with the goals. Watton are hot on Eaton’s heels with a 6-0 win away at AG Athletic. Easton also have a 100% record with 6 points, after a 9 goal thriller, 6-3 win at Newsman Celtic. Carl Branson, Rhys Cousins, Thomas Cullum, Ryan Gray, Jake London and Paul Sizer scoring for Easton, Noah Downes, Liam Lown and Kurt Livie replying for Newsman. The games between Aylsham and Acle Rangers Reserves and Heathersett Reserves and Norman Wanderers A both end 2-2, Thomas Cullumbine and Nat Mayling scoring the goals for Acle.
It was goals galore in Division 3 with 31 goal being scored in the 5 games. Long Stratton could only manage 1 of those goals (James Bemrose) but it was enough to beat Old Catton 1-0. Sporting Rackheath had an excellent 3-0 win at home to Moose Park Rangers who apparently “just didn’t turn up”. William IV are looking strong and favourites for the league even at this early stage after travelling to Cellar House and scoring 7 without reply. The big scorers were Earsham who scored 12 of the 13 goals against FC Viking Reserves.
Division 4 is the only division in the league structure to see every team play 2 games so far this season and the only team in the division with a 100% record, scraping past Eaton Beehive Reserves 2-1. It was a mixed Sunday for the 2 new Sprowston teams, Rovers winning 6-0 against Wensum Helles and United going down 5- against Yelverton. Freethorpe travelled to Salhouse Rovers and thanks to goals from Ben Cooper 2, Kieran Hunt 2 and Elliot Wright, won 5-0. Marriott picked up their first Sunday League win with a 3-1 win away at Felthorpe.
