GOALS GALORE IN ALL DIVISIONS
Hethersett made it four from four when they completed a quick double header against Mattishall YCOB, winning 2-1. Marlborough are hot on their heels after two goals in the last five minutes gave the 6-3 scoreline a somewhat flattering look at Poringland. Quebec had a good 4-1 win over The Grove, whilst there were also wins for Delaneys, who move up to third, and Norman Wanderers.
1A leaders AFC Wanderers scored nine without reply at Angel Gardens and Aylsham Black Boys also scored nine against Freemasons Arms. Eaton Beehive moved into second place, winning 4-3 at Busmen, whilst Champion had a 5-3 victory over Hainford YCOB. There were also good wins for Felthorpe and Winstone Rovers. In 1B Aylsham Sunday scored six at Manor Park to record their first win of the season. Taverham United lead the way after a 4-1 win at Hillside and Salhouse moved into second spot winning 4-3 at St George. Also on the victory trail were Sprowston Wanderers and Unicorns who both recorded home wins.
Of the six games in 2A only one produced a home win when Earlham Bridges beat Earlham Colney 3-1. Windmill Wanderers, Hellesdon Athletic, North Walsham Town and Norwich Union all won away, whilst Aslacton and Acle Wanderers shared six goals between them. In 2B Costessey Sports stay top beating Ex Mile Cross 3-0, followed by Haig who beat Earlham United 4-2. Drayton and Horsford SC both had home wins, whilst Bayer won 4-3 at Thorpe Rovers. Ketts Tavern and Norwich CEYMS drew 4-4.
Nelson and The Brickmakers both scored six times away from home when recording victories. Temple Bar also won on their travels, 2-0 at Mousehold. Deopham beat Stoke 4-3 and Coltishall Colts and The Griffen drew 1-1. Old Catton demolished AFC Rompers 12-0 and top 3B. Wymondham Res won 6-1 at Unicorns Res, whilst Spixworth beat Aylsham Res 5-1. There were wins too for PL Rangers, Norfolk County Council and Costessey Res.
Plenty of goals too in 4A. Pulham scored eight at Branford and Reepham seven at The Mitre. Sporting Longdale and Elm Tavern shared eight between them whilst Mulbarton and Upton shared four. Earlham Colney Res and DCS Rapid both had home wins. In 4B Mundesley, AFC Fifers and Dynamo Denmark, all won scoring five times and Thorpe Marriot won 6-3 at Hethersett A. Mischief beat Royal Oak 3-1, whilst the game between Freethorpe and Hingham ended in a 1-1 draw.
SEVEN UP FOR HETHERSETT
The clash of last seasons top two saw Hethersett claim the points when they beat champions Marlborough 7-3. Newcomers The Grove made it two from two, winning 6-3 at Norman Wanderers. Delaneys and Mattishall YCOB both put points on the board with good away wins whilst Poringland and Quebec shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
In 1A, AFC Wanderers won their first league game of the season 4-1 at Winstone Rovers, whilst Hainford YCOB won by the same scoreline at Norwich Busmen. Champion beat Freemasons 4-2 and Eaton Beehive had a 3-3 draw with The Silver Fox. In 1B there were away wins for Wymondham Rangers, Acle Res and Salhouse Rovers. Taverham United beat St George 1-0 and Manor Park scored seven without reply against Poringland Res.
Windmill Wanderers scored eight at home to Norwich Union in 2A whilst Hellesdon Athletic won 4-1 at Aslacton. There were also wins for Newsman Celtic, North Walsham Town and Gilson Bailey. In 2B Ketts Tavern, Haig F.C. and Drayton all scored five as they recorded home wins. Horsford SC beat Thorpe Rovers 1-0 and Norwich CEYMS recorded the same score against Ex Mile Cross. The game between Costessey Sports and Earlham United was goalless.
After conceding nine at Stoke last week, Mad Moose entertained and surprised them in the return fixture by holding them to a 2-2 draw. Mousehold, Plasterers Arms and Nelson all had wins whilst The Griffin and Temple Bar drew 1-1. Costessey Sports Res, Old Catton and Wymondham Rangers Res all had good away wins in 3B, whilst Taverham Utd Res and Spixworth had home wins. Norfolk CCS and St Faiths fought out a 2-2 draw.
In 4A Reepham kept their winning start on track beating Upton 4-0 and Sporting Longdale had a good win at Earlham Colney Res. there were plenty of goals as DCS Rapid and Elm Tavern shared ten between them. In 4B league newcomers Hingham and Mischief have maximum points. Felmingham, Freethorpe and Thorpe Marriot all had good wins, as did Dynamo Denmark who won 3-1 at Dancing Farmers.

CHAMPIONS MAKE IT MAXIMUM START
There was a reduced fixture list in the league this morning due to the first round of the various County Cups.
In the Premier, champions Marlborough made it two wins from two when they beat Delaneys 2-1. The only other game in the division saw Prince of Denmark and Acle Rangers share the points in a 1-1 draw.
In 1B Norwich Busmen continued their good start, beating Champion Ath 3-1, whilst Felthorpe and Winstone Rovers drew 1-1.
1B saw Taverham Utd score five times at Acle Res to take the points and Hillside OB also had an away win, 2-1 at Poringland Res.
Two clubs have maximum points in 2A. Gilson Bailey who won 4-1 at Newsman Celtic and Windmill Wanderers who were 4-0 winners at Acle Wanderers. North Walsham OB beat Earlham Colney 4-0 and Earlham Bridges had a good 3-1 victory at North Walsham Town.
Costessey Sports have started well in 2B, they beat Bayer FC 4-1 whilst Thorpe Rovers beat Wilco Fast Fit 4-0. In the only other game in the division, Ketts Tavern beat Horsford SC 2-1.
In 3A Green Man and Deopham have 100 % starts. Green Man won 2-1 at Nelson and Deopham had a 6-2 home victory over Mousehold. Stoke thumped nine without reply against Mad Moose whilst The Griffen beat Brickmakers 3-1.
In 3B Norfolk CCS had a comfortable 7-1 win at home to AFC Rompers whilst St Faiths and Aylsham Sunday Res drew 1-1.
There were no games in Division 4A and 4B
ROSARY ROCKED BY PORINGLAND FIGHTBACK
The 50th season of the Norwich Sunday League kicked into action this morning with goals aplenty. Last year's top two Marlborough and Hethersett Athletic both recorded 5-1 victories, whilst league newcomers Rosary Rams recieved a rude awakening after leading 3-1 at the interval, they fell victim to a storming Poringland comeback to lose 6-3. Of the other newcomers, Mattishall lost 3-2 at home to Quebec, whilst The Grove beat Prince of Denmark 3-2.
There were also plenty of goals in 1A. 11 were scored at Aylsham as Black Boys beat Champion Ath 6-5. Winstone Rovers won 4-2 at Hainford YCOB and The Silver Fox scored four at home to Farmhouse. Norwich Busmen recorded a good 3-2 win at Felthorpe and Freemasons Arms beat Angel Gardens 2-0
Sad to report the late withdrawal of Saxlingham in 1B. A member of the league for so many years it is a shame to see them go. Both promoted sides suffered first day defeats, Wymondham Rangers 3-2 at home to Hillside OB and Salhouse Rovers 4-1 at home to Unicorns. Manor Park returned from Acle with three points and Taverham Utd and Aylsham Sunday shared the spoils. St George beat a Poringland Res side, badly hit by first team calls 7-1.
2A saw Windmill Wanderers and Hellesdon Athletic score 7 times in victory, whilst Gilson Bailey scored 5 in beating North Walsham Town. Aslacton started well with a 3-1 win at Norman Res, and Acle Wanderers along with Norwich Union both started the season with home wins.
In 2B Ex Mile Cross were high scorers last season and this year could see more of the same. they scored 8 of the10 at Hethersett Res. Drayton scored 6 without reply at Bayer and Costessey Sunday beat Wilco Fast Fit 5-1. Haig and Norwich CEYMS started with victories whilst Earlham Utd and Ketts Tavern shared the points in a 2-2 draw.
3A saw Deopham thump Mad Moose 10-1 and there were also wins for Green Man, Plasterers Arms and Nelson. The Reindeer won 4-2 at Temple Bar whilst Coltishall Colts returned from Brickmakers with a 5-1 win in the bag.
3B also saw plenty of goals, St Faiths bagged 9 without reply against AFC Rompers, whilst Ribs of Beef scored 7 of the 10 against Unicorns Res. Old Catton and PL Rangers both scored 6 at home whilst collecting three points and Taverham Res came back from Wymondham Res with a 4-1 win.Costessey Res and Spixworth shared 8 goals between them.
League newcomers DCS Rapid won 7-1 at Sporting Longdale to get their 4A campaign under way and Coachmakers Arms scored 7 without reply at home to The Mitre, Reepham scored 6 at Upton whilst Elm Tavern and Norman A both had 4-2 home wins. Another newcomer, Pulham United gained a point in a 3-3 draw against Earlham Colney Res.
Hingham Athletic introduced themselves to 4B, beating Felmingham 8-1 and Mischief beat Freethorpe 4-2. Sprowston Rovers and Dynamo Denmark both started with home wins whilst AFC Fifers won 3-2 at Thorpe Marriot.Royal Oak and Mundesley Sunday fought out a 3-3 draw.
