NORMAN'S CONQUEST

With leaders Marlborough inactive this morning, Hethersett missed the chance to go back to the top of the Premier division when they were beaten 2-0 at home to Norman Wanderers. Delaneys now move up to second spot after beating Mattishall YCOB 3-1. Acle Rangers and The Grove shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Winston Rovers top 1A after a 5-0 win at Angel Gardens, closely followed by AFC Wanderers who won 6-1 at Farmhouse. Aylsham Black Boys and Norwich Busmen both recorded home wins,whilst Felthorpe won 2-1 at Freemasons Arms. Salhouse Rovers are the new leaders of 1B after beating Manor Park 2-0. Second placed Taverham United beat previous leaders Unicorns 1-0 whilst there were home wins for Hillside OB and Wymondham Rangers.

Windmill Wanderers made it seven from seven this season when they beat Aslacton 5-2. Gilson Bailey beat Norwich Union 3-2 and Hellesdon Athletic got back to winning ways, 4-0 at home to North Walsham Town. Earlham Bridges and Normaan Res both scored five when winning at home and Newsman Celtic beat Earlham Colney 3-1. Costessey Sports still top 2B after beating Norwich CEYMS 3-0 whilst Haig FC thumped Ex Mile Cross 6-2. Earlham United scored six without reply at Thorpe Rovers and AFC Drayton also scored six at home to Ketts Tavern. Horsford SC beat Hethersett Res 3-1 whilst Bayer overcame Wilco Fast fit 5-4.

Nelson continue to set the pace in 3A after winning 3-0 at Deopham. Plasterers Arms are second. They beat Mousehold 3-0 and are a point ahead of Green Man who won 3-2 at The Reindeer. The Griffen beat Mad Moose 4-1 whilst there were also wins for Brickmakers and Coltishall Colts. 3B leaders Old Catton hit four without reply at Taverham Res whilst Norfolk CCSC hammered Aylsham Sunday Res 11-0. Spixworth are third after beating Wymondham Res 5-2 and there were also wins for PL Rangers and Unicorns Res. St Faiths and Costessey Res fought out a 2-2 draw.

The top of the table clash in 4A saw Reepham maintain their 100% record as they beat DCS Rapid 5-3. Pulham United had a good 6-2 victory at The Mitre and Coachmakers Arms won 4-0 at Elm Tavern. Mulbarton Wanderers recorded their first victory of the season, beating Branford 3-2 and Earlham Colney Res beat Upton 2-1. 4B leaders overcame AFC Fifers 4-3 whilst Hingham won 5-2 at Mischief. Thorpe Marriot beat Royal Oak 4-1 and Felmingham won the North Norfolk derby, 3-1 at Mundesley. Sprowston Rovers had a good win at Hethersett A whilst Freethorpe drew 1-1 with Dancing Farmers.

Meanwhile, as a reminder to clubs, any team not wishing to have a fixture on November 4th (When Norwich play Ipswich) must contact fixtures secretary Bernie Hardiman on 01603 423894 as soon as possible as after next Sunday it will be too late.

SWEET REVENGE FOR MARLBOROUGH

Marlborugh gained revenge for an earlier defeat against rivals Hethersett, when they won 1-0 at Eaton Park to take over at the top of the Premier League. Third placed Delaneys drew 1-1 at Quebec whilst Norman beat Poringland. Mattishall had a 6-1 victory at home to Prince of Denmark.

In 1A it was home wins all the way as Eaton Beehive, Winstone Rovers, Hainford YCOB and The Silver Fox all won. In 1B St George beat Manor Park 8-4, whilst Unicorns, Aylsham Sunday and Wymondham Rangers also had victories. Taverham Sunday and Sprowston Wanderers shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Plenty of goals in 2A where North Walsham Town scored eight and Aslacton seven as they won their games. Windmill Wanderers and Acle Wanderers both scored four in winning at home, whilst Gilson Bailey won 4-1 at North Walsham OB. Shock of the day was they first league defeat in over a season for Hellesdon Athletic, who lost 2-1 at Norwich Union. In 2B CEYMS thumped nine passed Bayer and Haig scored five as they won at Hethersett Res. Costessey Sports stay top after a 2-1 win at Ketts Tavern. Earlham United beat Horsford SC and Thorpe Rovers had a good 6-1 win at Wilco Fast Fit.

In 3A Nelson increased their lead at the top beating The Reindeer 5-1, as Deopham drew 2-2 at Brickmakers. There were also away wins for Stoke, Plasterers Arms and Coltishall Colts. In 3B Old Catton lost their 100% record, losing 4-2 at home to Norfolk CCSC. Spixworth and AFC Rompers both had good 5-1 victories, whilst Ribs of Beef and St Faiths both won 2-0. Costessey Res and PL Rangers shared the points in a 2-2 draw.

DCS Rapid top 4A after a 2-1 win at Upton. Reepham are hot on their heels, beating Mulbarton Wanderers 5-2. Branford Arms lost at home to The Mitre, whilst Coachmakers Arms and Norman A both won at home. Pulham and Elm Tavern shared six goals and the points. Dynamo Denmark top 4B with a 100% record. They beat Royal Oak 5-3, whilst second placed Hingham hammered Hethersett A 7-1. Thorpe Marriot beat Mischief 5-0 and Mundesley won 5-2 at Dancing Farmers. Felmingham beat AFC Fifers 3-2 at home whilst Sprowston Wanderers and Freethorpe fought out a 1-1 draw.
