NORMANS CLOSE GAP AT TOP
With Premier Division leaders Marlborough on County Cup duty, Norman Wanderers closed the gap at the top of the table when they beat Hethersett 2-0. Poringland won 4-2 against Mattishall YCOB and there was a change of fortune for Rosary Rams who beat Acle Rangers 4-1.
In 1A Eaton Beehive failed to take advantage of AFC Wanderers cup commitments as they lost 6-0 to Winstone Rovers. Angel Gardens, Aylsham Black Boys and Felthorpe all had good wins, whilst Farmhouse put twelve past luckless Freemasons Arms. In 1B Sprowston Wanderers beat Acle Res 3-1, Taverham United won 2-1 at Manor Park and Hillside had an 8-0 victory over Poringland Res.
Hellesdon Athletic top 2A after a 6-2 win at Newsman Celtic and Gilson Bailey beat Earlham Colney 5-1. Aslacton drew 1-1 with North Walsham Town whilst the game between Norman Res and Norwich Union also end 1-1. 2B leaders Norwich CEYMS won 5-0 at Thorpe Rovers, Horsford SC beat Bayer FC 6-3 whilst Earlham United came away from Ketts Tavern with a 1-0 win.
The top of the table clash in 3A saw leaders Nelson beat second placed Plasterers Arms 3-0. Green Man won 2-0 against The Reindeer and Deopham beat Temple Bar 2-1 to go fourth. The Griffen scored seven without reply at Mousehold, whilst there were good wins for Mad Moose and Coltishall Colts. Old Catton drew 2-2 at Spixworth to go top of 3B, whilst St Faiths won 7-3 at Taverham Res. Wymondham Res also won 7-3 at PL Rangers and Ribs of Beef scored ten at AFC Rompers. Unicorns Res beat Aylsham Sunday Res 4-1.
4A leaders Norman "A" won 5-0 at Mulbarton as second placed DCS Rapid beat Coachmakers Arms 3-2. Pul;ham had a good win, 6-3 at Sporting Longdale as did Upton, 3-2 at The Mitre. The long trip to Mundesley proved worthwhile for 4B leaders Hingham who won 5-1. Felmingham drew 1-1 with Dancing Farmers and AFC Fifers beat Sprowston Rovers 4-0. There were also good victories for Mischief, Hethersett "A" and Freethorpe.
