RAIN STOPS PLAY
Only twenty four of the weekends scheduled games in the Norwich Sunday League were played because of the wet weather. It was interesting to note that of the twenty five games called off, NONE were called off this morning.
The only game played in the Premier Division saw Prince of Denmark draw 0-0 with Mattishall YCOB.
Two games in 1A produced a bagfull of goals. Hainford YCOB scored nine without reply at Farmhouse, whilst Siver Fox won 17-1 at Freemasons Arms. Aylsham Sunday won the only game in 1B, 4-1 at Hillside OB.
2A was the only division to complete all of the days fixtures. Hellesdon Ath beat Norwich Union 7-1 to take over at the top from Windmill Wanderers who only managed a 2-2 draw at Earlham Bridges. Gilson Bailey beat North Walsham OB 8-3, whilst North Walsham won 7-3 at Norman Wanderers Res. Aslacton scored seven when beating Earlham Colney and Acle Wanderers had a good 3-2 win at Newsman Celtic. In 2B, Ex Mile Cross won 4-2 at Drayton and Horsford SC lost 2-1 at home to Earlham United.
3A leaders Nelson only drew 2-2 at The Reindeer, but second placed Plasterers Arms failed to take advantage, as they too drew, 3-3 with The Griffen. Coltishall Colts beat Mousehold 5-3, whilst Mad Moose and Temple Bar fought out a 2-2 draw.
The four teams that played in 3B all took a point each. AFC Rompers drew 0-0 with Aylsham Sunday Res and Taverham Res drew 2-2 with Ribs of Beef. With Norman "A" and Reepham inactive, DCS Rapid extended their lead at the top of 4A when winning 6-2 at Earlham Colney Res. The Mitre beat The Branford 3-2 and Sporting Longdale and Coachmakers Arms drew with a goal each. In 4B Felmingham closed the gap on Hingham with a 2-1 win at AFC Fifers. Dynamo Denmark won 4-2 at Royal Oak and Dancing Farmers had a 3-2 victory at Mundesley
