TITLES FOR HELLESDON AND HINGHAM
Marlborough moved seven points clear at the top of the Premier Division, after beating bottom side Prince of Denmark 6-0 thIs morning. The Grove are third after a 1-0 victory over Acle Rangers closely followed by Delaneys, who were 5-2 winners at Mattishall YCOB. Poringland won 3-1 at Hethersett and Quebec beat Rosary Rams 2-1.
In 1A Eaton Beehive scored seven in beating Angel Gardens but can't shake off the attentions of AFC Wanderers who beat Farmhouse 6-1. Winstone Rovers stay third after a 4-1 win at Champion and The Silver Fox beat Norwich Busmen 2-1. Aylsham Black Boys had a good 2-1 win at Hainford YCOB. Salhouse Rovers scored nine without reply at Poringland Res to stay top of 1B whilst Wymondham Rangers are still second after a good 3-0 win at Unicorns. At the bottom Acle Res leapfrogged Manor Park after beating them 3-0 and Sprowston Wanderers won 3-1 at Aylsham Sunday.
Well done to Hellesdon Athletic in 2A who will be playing senior football next season after completing their fixtures as champions. North Walsham Town are third after beating Norwich Union 2-0 whilst North Walsham OB thumped Earlham Colney 11-2. Normans Res beat Newsman Celtic 3-0 and Earlham Bridges overcame Gilson Bailey 5-2. In 2B Norwich CEYMS scored five in beating Ketts Tavern and Earlham United scored four without reply at Bayer FC. Costessey Sunday had a good 5-1 win at near neighbours Drayton, whilst Ex Mile Cross beat Thorpe Rovers 4-1. Horsford SC came back from the coast empty handed after they lost 7-4 at Haig FC.
Nelson missed the chance to clinch the Division 3A title when they were surprisingly beaten 3-2 at home to The Griffen. They must now win their last game to be certain of winning the division. Plasterers Arms completed their fixtures, moving to the top of the table after a 6-0 win at Temple Bar. Both of the top two must now watch Green Man carefully. They beat Mad Moose 7-0 and are third with games in hand. Deopham won 8-2 at The Reindeer and Stoke put four past Coltishall Colts. Mousehold were rewarded for plugging away all season when they won their final fixture 4-2 at home to Brickmakers. In 3B Old Catton are almost there after a 3-1 win at PL Rangers left them needing a point from their last two games to be champions. Norfolk CCSC dropped points as they drew 2-2 at St Faiths and Spixworth beat Unicorns Res 5-1. The reserve sides of Aylsham Sunday and Taverham drew 1-1.
DCS Rapid completed a very good first season in the league with a 4-2 victory at Elm Tavern and top 4A by four points. They must now wait to see how Norman Wanderers "A" fare in their final two games. They won 5-3 at Earlham Colney Res to leave matters in their own hands. Sporting Longdale and Coachmakers Arms also had good away wins, whilst Branford Arms and Reepham Town drew 4-4. Congratulations to Hingham Athletic who bagged the 4B title after an excellent first season. They beat Royal Oak 4-1 whilst Hethersett "A" had a good 5-1 win over Dynamo Denmark. Sprowston Rovers won 3-2 at Freethorpe.
