AFC SHOCK DELANEYS TO REACH FINAL
AFC Wanderers reached the final of the Pink Un sponsored Sunday League Cup Final with a 3-1 victory over Premier Division side Delaneys. Goals from Luke Tuttle put the home side two ahead at the interval, and although Ollie King pulled a goal back after the break, a cool finish from Gary Walsh eleven minutes from time saw the Division 1A side home. AFC will now play the winners of the Poringland Wanderers v Prince of Denmark tie, postponede due to a waterlogged pitch, in the Final at Wroxham on May 11th.
The only game in the Premier division saw Marlborough beat Rosary Rams 7-0 to move to within one victory of the title.
It was a good day all round for AFC Wanderers as thier main challengers for the Division 1A title, Eaton Beehive, went down 3-2 at Champion Athletic . Winstone Rovers won 3-1 at Norwich Busmen and Aylsham Black Boys beat Angel Gardens 3-2. There is no let up in the battle for the 1B title. The top two both had home wins, Salhouse 4-2 over Taverham United and Wymondham Rangers, 5-0 over Aylsham Sunday. Sprowston Wanderers drew 2-2 with Unicorns.
In 2A Gilson Bailey completed their fixtures with a 4-2 victory at Acle Wanderers and the North Walsham derby saw twelve goals scored, eight of them by Town. In 2B there were away wins for Haig, 4-0 at Ketts Tavern, Horsford SC, 3-0 at Thorpe Rovers and Hethersett Res, 4-1 at Wilco Fast Fit.
Green Man kept up their push for a promotion spot with a 4-1 vicory at Coltishall Colts. The Griffen ended their season with a 3-2 win at Stoke and Brickmakers won 3-2 at Deopham. Congratulations go to Old Catton who are the 3B champions after a 2-2 draw at second placed Norfolk CCSC. Spixworth hammered Taverham Res 8-0 whilst Costessey Sports Res scored four without reply at PL Rangers. Aylsham Sunday Res had a good 3-2 win at Wymondham Res.
In 4A Norman Wanderers "A" won 3-0 at Elm Tavern. A win in thier last game will see them pip DCS Rapid for the title.Upton kept up their recent good form with a 6-3 win at Branford Arms and Sporting Longdale beat Earlham Colney Res 2-1. In the only 4B game played Dancing Farmers won 5-3 at Dynamo Denmark.
