NEVER MIND GRAND SLAM, THIS IS SHOOTOUT SUNDAY

Never mind SKY's "Grand Slam Sunday" The Norwich & District Sunday League is set for its own day of drama this Easter Sunday. A win for Premier leaders and current champions Marlborough FC at Acle Rangers will see them lift the title for the third year in succession. But dont expect the home side to make life easy for the visitors, they badly need a win to help in their fight against relegation.

Its Divisions 1A and 1B that could see the most drama on Sunday. Long time 1A leaders Eaton Beehive travel to in form second placed AFC Wanderers, knowing that only a win will be good enough to keep them in contention for the title as AFC are only a point behind with four games in hand. In 1B Wymondham Rec will be no place for the faint hearted as Wymondham Rangers entertain Salhouse Rovers. A draw for the visitors will see them take the title, whilst the home side need all three points to avoid a play off place.

Hellesdon Athletic have already taken the 2A title, with Windmill Wanderers clinching second spot, but 2B is still to be decided. Long time leaders Norwich CEYMS travel to second placed Earlham United. This is the home sides last game of the season and they cannot catch the leaders, but they could finish second. CEYMS can reach a maximum 56 points for the season, and third placed Costessey Sports who have games in hand, can make it to 55, and yes, the two teams still have to meet each other.

There is only one game in 3A but it is important, as Green Man, who are eight points behind leaders Plasterers Arms, but have three games in hand, travel to Stoke FC. Plasterers have finished their fixtures but could miss out altogether as second placed Nelson have one game to play and are only a point behind. Old Catton took the 3B title last weekend with Norfolk CCSC finishing as runners up.

A point on Sunday for Norman Wanderers "A" will see them crowned 4A champions. It wont be easy though as they travel to one time Division leaders Reepham Town who have had a decent first season. In 4B Dynamo Denmark must be kicking themselves after their defeat at home to Dancing Farmers last week. They must win at champions Hingham in their last game to have any chance of taking second spot from Felmingham, who still have two games left.

So before Grand Slam Sunday starts this weekend, get yourself out to one these games, trust me, the fireworks could start at 10.30.
