The Eastern Evening News Norwich & District Sunday League season kicks off this weekend. Six new clubs have taken advantage of the vacancies created by last seasons withdrawals and we welcome them to the league.

The Premier Division sees Marlborough target a third succesive title whilst newcomers Rosary Rams, Mattishall YCOB and The Grove, will look to prove that they are up for the challenge ahead.

1A will see Eaton Beehive aiming to bounce back to the top division, but face strong competition from AFC Wanderers, whilst Sprowston Wanderers will want to put the disapointment of the play off final behind them by winning 1B. Wymondham Rangers and Salhouse Rovers step up to this division and could do well.

In Division 2A Hellesdon Athletic could find it harder to repeat their unbeaten performance of last season, whilst 2B will see Costessey Sunday and Haig FC aim for a third succesive promotion.

Divisions 3A and 3B look to be wide open , but as is often the case, there will no doubt be one or two clubs that will stand out from the rest.

The six new clubs are divded between divisions 4A and 4B and it might well be worth keeping an eye on DCS Rapid and Hingham Athletic, then again someone will probably prove me wrong.

This season sees 50 years of the League, lets hope its one to remember for all the right reasons.
