The Norwich & District Sunday League celebrated 60 years of football at the weekend with a dinner held at Park Farm Hethersett. Guests included founder members, whilst past and present committee members, old club secretaries and ex players were also represented. Special guest for the evening, John Linford held a question and answer session where he spoke about his professional career and his commitment to the Sunday League which spans time as a player, manager, chairman, secretary and sponsor. That commitment continues to this day as Chairman of Marlborough.

Chairman Paul Ballard also spoke and praised the efforts of those founder members that were unable to attend, praising them for getting the League up and running at a time when the FA were opposed to playing any football on the Sabbath. He also thanked outgoing League Secretary Ben Casey who is steeping down after 23 years on the committee and on behalf of the League, presented Ben with a frame containing shirts of his two favourite teams, Glasgow Celtic and Poringland Wanderers . Casey was also made a Vice President and Life Member of the League. Roll on the next 60 years
