Reigning champions Norman Wanderers continued their good start to the season as they made it five wins from five games when beating Spixworth Sunday 5-2. A Danny Brown hat trick and goals by Jody Cork and Adam Plumstead had put the home side five up at half time, although Spixworth produced a much better second half performance, reducing the arrears through Wayne and Danny Nelson. Jordan Rocastle and Sean Brown scored for Riverside Rovers as they stayed in second spot, beating Sprowston Rovers 2-1, whilst Farmhouse continued their good form with a 3-0 (Darren Parnell 2, Danny Howes) win at Doghouse. Kain Taylor, Tom Barrett and an OG were the AFC Wanderers scorers as they beat The POW 3-2 whilst a single goal after five minutes was enough for Acle Rangers to take the points at Poringland Wanderers.

Bungay Town still lead the way in 1A after a 6-2 win at Horsford Utd for whom Shaun Plant and Calum Cooper scored. One goal against Aslacton was enough for Sporting Longdale to stay second, whilst third placed Anglian Rovers were beaten 2-1 at home to Brooke FC. Windmill Wanderers were 4-1 winners over DCS Rapid and Vale Longo made it two wins on the bounce as they beat Dancing Farmers 3-1. 1B leaders Earlham Utd had a Darrell Wigger hat trick and a Liam Moriarty double to thank for their 5-2 victory at Heartsease FC. Moles Rest are second as goals from Hal Linderidge Lucas Kent and a Carlos Blanco “worldie” helped them win 3-2 at Schoolhouse. Goalkeeper Danny Bruce also saved a penalty. Bell Inn were five up in eighteen minutes when they travelled to Sprowston Wanderers. Dale Simpson 2, Luke Appleton 2, Joe Pattison 2 (both penalties) and Alex Pattison all scored as they eventually ran out 7-3 winners in a game well refereed by Tyler Clayton. St Faith’s scorers in their 3-1 win over William Wanderers were Chris Sandle, Carl Branson and a 25 yard “screamer” from Louis Jefferson and Acle Rangers Res completed a good day for the club as they beat Taverham Utd 3-1.

In 2A New Buckenham trailed 2-0 at half time but stormed back to win 5-3 at Norman Wanderers A, thanks to an own goal, Martin Andrews and a hat-trick from Gareth Hobley and despite only playing with 10 men. Constable Crusaders thumped Fat Cat & Canary 9-2 (Liam Frost 3, Jamie Rennie 2, Scott Tuttle, Jake Dugdale and two OG’s) to stay second and The Cottage moved up to third after winning 3-1 ( Connor Neal, Jake McKee, Luke Jones) at Micawbers Tavern. Shipdham Rangers scored seven (Lewis McKerell 2, Bradley Rivett, Charlie Gunner 2, Jack Flynn 2) of the nine goals in their game at Ketts Tavern Wizards and Dilham Cross Keys will be delighted with their 1-0 (Daniel Duffield) home win over Costessey West End. Bungay Town Res also had a good win, 4-1 at home to Deopham. Revolution FC are six points clear at the top of 2B after goals by Connor Simpson 2, Craig Boyles, Haydn Cunningham and Ben Newton helped them to a 5-1 win at Hethersett Athletic for whom Adam Waters replied from the spot. Lakewood Utd are second after a 4-0 win over Mettingham and DEF FC continued their good start to the season as they won 5-1 (Paul Suggitt 2, Mo Bah 2, Stuart Parker) at Costessey Sports. SDC Utd won by the only goal at Locksley Ath, whilst Rileys FC moved off the bottom of the table as goals by Adam Simpson 3, Matthew Daynes, Kyle Appleton and Kirk Appleton helped them to their first win of the season, 6-1 at home to Briston Wanderers.

I saw a very good game in 3A, where free scoring The Middle Green entertained Mischief FC who had yet to be beaten since joining the league. The home side took the lead in the very first minute when Alex Riseborough fired home a free kick but Mischief levelled ten minutes later when Matt Payne nodded home form close range. The game continued to go from end to end, but it was the home side who took their chances and added further goals from Riseborough again, Danny Cullum and Sam Bird before the break. There were no more goals in an even second have, but Mischief can be proud of the fact that it has taken twenty six league games for them to finally taste defeat, whilst if the home side can match the enthusiasm and zest of their manager for the rest of the season, it should be a successful one for them. GaGa bounced back from last weeks defeat to score eleven (James Wheeler 5, Dan Bowen 2, Kourosh Amini,  Sam Aldis, Aaron Soday, Andy Richardson) without reply against Westfield FC and there was a good win for Winfarthing as they won 4-2 at Brooke FC Res. Sporting Longdale Res scored seven as they beat bottom side Freethorpe FC and there was a first win for Tasburgh Utd, 4-2 (Sam Lewis, Max Adams, Tom Kinge, Callum Dornan) at AFC Westlegate. MC Rovers and Reedham FC took a point apiece in a 3-3 draw with James Grady 2, and Paul Fisher scoring for Rovers. In 3B Phoenix FC remain unbeaten since joining the league. Their 6-1 (Jamie Smith 3, Charlie Lamb, Ellis Watts,  Larry Rouse) victory at Red Lion helped them remain two points clear of Trimingham Pilgrims, who were 3-0 (Daniel Tyrell, George Crane, Thomas Rogers) winners at East Tuddenham. Hickling Barn beat Sporting Iceni 4-1 and Cellar House recorded a 5-2 victory at ten man Felthorpe FC with goals coming from Wayne Norman 2, Adam Ward, Brett Hadley and Daryl Wickham. Luke Gould scored five times and Matt Cartledge a double as Silver Fox also had a convincing win, 7-2 at home to Binham Village

In the Under 19 A section Blofield United and Long Stratton both continued their fine starts to the season. Blofield inflicted a second defeat on Hellesdon as goals by Alex Clemmett and Alex Rollings helped them to a 2-1 win, whilst Tam Demunga 2, Jack Herbert and Joseph Read scored for Long Stratton as they beat North Walsham 4-0. Robert Warminger 2 and Tom Nurse scored for Hethersett Ath as they beat Thorpe Village 3-1 and Beccles Caxton had a 4-2 home win over Coltishall Jaguars A.

Marlborough top the B section after handing out a fifteen goal hammering to Coltishall Jaguars B and are a point ahead of Drayton who were 8-3 winners at Swanton Morley. Sprowston Athletic are third after winning 5-3 at Hellesdon Youth B and Reece May 3, Alain Elsley-Medina 2, Thomas Cannell and Jack Robinson all scored for Norman Wanderers as they came from behind to beat East Coast Warriors 7-3. Reepham Town ran out 2-0 winners at Litcham FC.

Wymondham Town lead they way in Division C. Matt Thresh, Bradley Russell and an OG were their scorers in a good 3-0 home win over Norwich Utd. Second placed Watton Utd had a 6-2 home win over Newton Flotman and Poringland Wanderers scored six ( Fraser Rankin 2, Will Harrowing 2, Luke Keeler OG)as they won at Freethorpe FC. There were hat tricks for Charlie Edwards, Sam Peel and Jordan Lake as Attleborough Town put ten past Mulbarton Wanderers, Ezekiel Perry scored the other, and Jacob Sloos 2, David Palmer, Ashley Maskel and Rhys Askham all scored for Scole Utd who recorded their first victory of the season, 5-2 at home to Harleston Town
