WARMINGER STRIKES NOT ENOUGH FOR FARMHOUSE

Week two of the Norwich & District Sunday League got underway this weekend on what was a warm but blustery Sunday morning. HEWETT GET OFF TO FLYING START

The 2018/19 season of the Evening News & Macron Sports Norwich Sunday League got underway this weekend and produced some interesting results. In the Premier Division, Hewett Old Boys hit the ground running as four goals from Craig Bussons plus others from Callum Speck (2) Ashley smith, Ben Potts and Dom Dodds saw them beat fellow promoted side The Middle Green 9-2. LEAGUE ANNOUNCES NEW SPONSOR

The League’s 2018 AGM has taken place and in his Annual Report, League Secretary Ben Casey said he was delighted to announce that Macron Sports Norwich will join the Evening News as joint sponsors of the League. They replace Copy I.T, the sponsors for the last ten years, who have been taken over by Sharp Business Systems so can no longer be a part of the set up. The League also welcomed seven new teams,

DAZZLERS TAKE SECOND SPOT

Despite it being well into May, there were still a couple of issues to be decided before the seasons end as teams lined up at the weekend. In the Premier, Acle rangers followed up their League Cup win with a 6-2 victory over Farmhouse. FOUR GOAL FOREMAN BREAKS HEWETT HEARTS

SILVERWARE AT STAKE AS ACLE & HEWETT GO HEAD TO HEAD

Tonight sees the 2018 League Cup Final take place as Acle Rangers and Hewett Old Boys face each other at The FDC kick off 7.30. Acle will be looking to go one better than their County Cup exploits after being losing Senior Cup finalists at Carrow Rd, whilst Division 1 side Hewett will be looking to end what they describe as an underachieving season on a high by taking the trophy for the first time.
