After last weekends County Cup games, it was back to league action this week, but for various reasons, only two games were played in the Premier Division

One of those saw Schoolhouse take over top spot as they scored four (Kieran Delaney2, Chris Hall, Callum Burke)without reply whilst winning at Horsford United. In the other game goals by Dan Manganaro and Andy Skipper helped Poringland Wanderers to take a point at Lakewood United after a 2-2 draw.

In 1A, Norman Wanderers remain in top spot despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Vale Longo who had taken an early lead through Stuart Bone. The Middle Green are second after beating New Buckenham 7-1 thanks to goals from Dom Doggett 3, Adam Brown 2, Jack Tarrant and Sam Bird, whilst Longdale Rovers suffered their first league defeat of the season as they went down 2-1 at Brooke. Newsman Celtic scored the only goal through Chris Bailey in their game with Mischief and Bungay Town Res scored five of the nine goals in their game at home to Constable Crusaders. A single goal by Arron James was enough to give Windmill Wanderers all three points at home to Warwick St United. Division 1B is led by Sprowston Wanderers for whom Hayden Davis 6, Joe Easton 3, Ash Patel 2, Chris Curtis, William Baird and Lewis Franklin all scored in their big win over Cellar House. Second placed Aslacton took a share of the spoils as they drew 2-2 at Hethersett Athletic. Adam Waters scored twice for the home side, Jutty Womack and Dean Mortimer replying for Aslacton. Phoenix FC scored nine (Jamie Smith 3, Olly Woodhouse 2, Matt Doyle 2, Charlie Lambe, George Tallent) as they won at Binham Village and Damien Williams 2, Karl Dent, Lewis Vardigans and Jonny Brown all scored as Briston Wanderers had a 5-4 home win over Silver Fox. Trimingham Pilgrims are in fourth spot after a 2-1 (Jack Crane, Lewis Amos) win over Acle Rangers Res.

Two unbeaten teams in 2A, Hewett OB’s and SNS FC faced each other and both remain unbeaten as neither side could find the net. Micawbers moved up to second spot after a 2-1 (Omar Lahfa, Josh Ford) home win over Mettingham and Norman Wanderers Res are third as Dan Stammers 3, Scott Thompson 2, Jimmy Buxton and Steve Buxton all scored as they won 7-0 at Warwick St Utd Res. Matthew Dye 3, Ashley Land, Ross Joy and Tom Cullum were on target for MC Rovers as they beat Brooke Res 6-2 and Winfarthing also score half a dozen as they won at Dynamo. I watched the game between the mornings top two in 2B, Norwich Ceyms and Blofield United and it proved to be a game that provided an amazing finish. There was no hint of the drama to come as both sides played out a pretty tame first half, but five minutes into the second period, the visitors took the lead through a cool finish from Josh McCarthy. McCarthy then provided a great run to set up Joe Sayer with a simple tap in, but Ceyms replied immediately when Jack Flynn’s strong drive was deflected passed the Blofield keeper. Flynn then levelled the scores with a header, but Blofield responded again and Josh Striffe broke clear to put them back in front. Ceyms then laid siege to the visitors’ goal and Blofield defended resolutely, but as they game moved into time added on, Jack Hurrell popped up to level the scores. Game finished? Not likely, with the game close to five minutes added on a free kick swung into the Blofield area was met by the head of Lewis McKerrell who gave Ceyms the winner with the very last action of the game. Cracking stuff in a game well handled by referee Tristen Watson. Hellesdon moved up to second spot after beating Sprowston Athletic 6-1, goals coming from Connor Charlesworth 2, Josh O’Donaughoe 2, Liam Robinson and Robert Reeve  whilst Barracks continued their good start when winning at Bunwell AFC. Harleston Town were 3-0 winners at Sporting Iceni and East Tuddenham scored eight (Stephen White 3, Michael Bates 2, Dan Wilson 2, Glen Wilkinson) as they won at FC Viking.

In Division 3, Woolpack remain top after winning 7-1 at Longdale Rovers Res, whilst Drayton Dazzlers are level on points as they beat Hempnall 3-0 (Mark Cornfield 2 Luke |Secker). Norman Wanderers A also have maximum points after a 3-0 (Alain Elsley-Medina, Isaac Mace, Zakaria Anwar) win over Mad Moose Athletic and, Marlborough were 2-1 (Spencer Medler, Matthew Roll) winners at home to AFC Norwich, Luke Perry scoring for Norwich. Cotman United were big winners with Matt Daynes 5, and David Cooper with a hat trick amongst the scorers over Eaton Park Corinthians, and it was good news for Woodton United who recorded their first ever league victory with a 3-2 (Jack Luckham, Jamie Ellis) win over Nelson Athletic.

In the Under 19 A division, Attleborough Town stay top after scoring six (Patrick Kassaga 3, Jamie Edwards 2, Cruise Nyadzaya) without reply at Scole United. Watton United have also made a good start which continued with an 8-1 Tom Rayner 4, Ty Bond 2, Soloman Tracey, Lewis Hart) win over Hethersett Athletic. Dereham Town were 4-2 (Denni Lane 2, Chris Broster, Will Clarke) winners at home to Reepham Town and Max Sawyer scored seven times as Long Stratton scored a dozen without reply as they won at Heigham Park Rangers. Grasshoppers also got off the mark with a 4-1 (Ben Barter, Nicko Schmidt, Caley Nevin, Michael Skerritt) win at Swanton Morley.

In the B division, Old Catton stay top despite going down to a 4-1 defeat at home to Aylsham. Hellesdon gained revenge for last weeks County Cup defeat as they came from behind to beat Rocklands United 3-1 thanks to goals from Kailum D’Eath 2 and Kieran Norman. St Andrews finally got their season underway and it was a good beginning, Billy Wright, Esube Macembela, Curtis Hunt and Josh Huggins all scoring as they beat Acle Rangers 4-1, whilst Cringleford also scored four without reply in beating Happisburgh Hammers.
