Even though it was Easter Sunday, it was the ridiculous weather that put paid to many of the weekends fixtures again.

In the Premier Division, Riverside Rovers gained swift revenge for a recent defeat as five Jordan Rocastle goals and further strikes from Jason Armes and Connor Delaney helped them thump Trimingham Pilgrims 7-1, a result that sees them return to the top of the table. It now means that two wins from their final three games, will see them retain the trophy for the fourth year running.

No games took place in Div 1 but in the second division, both Mischief and Drayton Dazzlers closed the gap on inactive leaders Woolpack by recording big wins. Mischief ran out 8-1 winners at home to Hethersett Ath whilst Dazzlers scored seven without reply against Sprowston Ath Wildcats. A single goal was enough for Marlborough to beat Briston whilst ten man Vale Longo will be happy with the point they took from Mad Moose after a 2-2 draw. Credit goes to both Longo and Mad Moose as after finding out that Moose’s pitch was unavailable, they switched the game to Longo’s home ground at Sprowston Rec.

Its still all to play for in Div 3 after leaders Norman Wanderers A went down to a 2-1 defeat at Bungay Town Res. It leaves Normans only a point ahead of DCS Rapid who have a game in hand. Hempnall recorded a 2-1 win at Acle Rangers Res, and there was a point each for Newsman Celtic and MC Rovers after a 1-1 draw. Alex Hunton and Ben Mitson were on target for Mettingham as they ran out 2-1 winners at home to Barracks FC

In Div 4, the battle for runners up spot took another turn as Hethersett Ath Res beat Rackheath Rangers 8-1. Hethersett are now just a point behind second placed FC Viking with a game in hand. Sporting Iceni completed their season with a 2-1 home win over Rose Ath Res.

Aylsham’s attempt at a League and Cup double is still well on track after a huge win over Ashill saw them go top of Div 5 by a point and still have a game in hand over Easton who still have two to play.

In the only game played in the Under 19’s Hellesdon and Acle Rangers shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Rowan Copland and Tinashe Madzimur scoring for the home side.
