Tavern Go Goals Galore

Woolpack and Schoolhouse continue to go toe to toe at the top of the Prem, both keeping up their 100% starts to the season. Woolpack travelled to Farmhouse and won 2-0, Tom Blake with both goals, whilst there was also a double for Shaun Taylor as Schoolhouse beat Acle 2-1.  Horsford are 3 points behind in third after a tight 3-2 win over Middle Green thanks to goals from Bryn Mullen 2 and Aaron Kay. The was a close game at Rackheath, where Phoenix beat Mischief 2-1 (Ryan Fisher 2) and Poringland picked up their second win of the season against Aslacton, 3-1.

 

In Div 1 AFC Norwich and Silver Fox both have 100% records but it’s Norman Wanderers who continue to lead the way after beating Hethersett 3-1. AFC had goals from Ryan Bensley and Harvey Harwood in beating MC Rovers 2-1. Silver Fox won 4-0 at DCS Rapid, who have finally not drawn a game. Vale Longo played for 60 mins with 10 men but still beat Windmill 2-0 thanks to a double from Aaron Saddleton. Marlborough won their first game of the season, scoring 5 of the 8 goals against Bungay.

 

The top two went head to head in Div 2, with morning leaders Eaton Beehive losing their first game of the season against new leader Easton 4-2, Marcus Dunthorpe-McInerney with a hattrick and Bradley Butler scoring. Aylsham are still unbeaten and move to second in the table beating AG Athletic by the odd goal in 5. Watton were the big scorers of the day scoring 9 (Mark Allibone 4,
Darrell Wigger, Brannan Solomon, Sam Fincham and Jack Abbott) against Barracks (who did score 1). Acle travelled to Norman Wanderers A and came away with the 3 points, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Harvey Durrant and Nat Mayling.  The final game in Div 2 saw Hethersett and Newsman play out a 1-1 draw.

 

William IV continue to top the Div 3 table after a hard fought 2-0 win against Old Catton, Tom Blanch and Jack Mason scoring. Long Stratton continued their 100% start to the season and remain 3 points behind William IV with a game in hand beating Viking Reserves by 7 goals to 1, James Bemrose 2, Charlie Deakin 2, Ewan Chamberlain, James Daniels and Aidan Hilton. Cringleford lost their unbeaten record as they went down 2-0 against Earsham. Moose Park Rangers continued their good form away at Cellar House, returning with a 4-1 win. Woodton picked picked up their first win of the season beating Eaton Park Corinthians 2-1.

 

There were 33 goals (if my maths is correct) in 4 games in Div 4 with Tavern Old Boys scoring 11 of them in their 11-5 win over Freethorpe. However, it’s Marriott who still top the table after their 5-1 win against Wensum Helles. Eaton Beehive Reserves picked up an excellent 4-2 win at home to Sprowston Rovers, thanks to Grant Worthington 3 and Marc Howard. Yelverton climbed to third in the table beating winless Salhouse 4-1.
