The Wait is Over

It’s seemed like a very long off season but the the 2019-20 season has finally kicked off. Woolpack, Schoolhouse, Acle and Poringland all picked up wins in the Prem.  The top 2 from last season in Diviosn 1, Woolpack and Mischief had a 10 goal thriller, Woolpack winning 7-3 thanks to goals from Jamie Smith 2, Liam Moriarty 2, Chris Holmes 2 and Tom Blake, Luca Elia scoring a hat-trick for Mischief.  Schoolhouse travelled to Horsford and came away with a 4-1 win, Shaun Taylor 2, Jack Robinson and Jack Hurrell with the goals. Acle were impressive in their 3-0 (Elliot Atlay 2 and James Foreman) defeat of newly promoted Aslacton and Poringland scored 4 of the 6 goals against Middle Green. This could be the closest Premier division for a number of years.

Norman Wanderers top the table in Division 1 beating Bungay 6-3. MC Rovers were behind twice again Vale Longo only to snatch the win in the last 5 minutes, 3-2. DCS Rapid and Viking shared 4 goals and Windmill got off to a good start beating Heathersett 1-0.

AG Athletic and East Tuddenham started the season scoring 9 goals between them in Division 2, AG coming out on top 5-4 with Ethan Goodyear 2, Robbie Clarke, Gareth Hobley and Jake Dugdale scoring. Easton Travelled to Acle and came away with 3 points after a 3-1 win. Eaton Beehive picked up a 1-0 win against Barracks and Watton came away from Newsman Celtic with a 2-1 win, however it’s Alysham who lead the way thanks to a 4-2 win again Norman Wanderers A.

Division 3 saw Cringleford and Moose Park Rangers both keeping clean sheets and scoring 5 in their respective games against Sporting Rackheath and Eaton Park Corinthians. William IV had a massive win (12-3) against Woodton, Connor Delaney scoring 5, Tyler Sistern 2, Thomas Blanch 2, Ashley Land 2 and Aaron Nixon all on the scoresheet.  Long Stratton scored 6 of the 7 goals against Earsham and FC Viking Reserves and Cellar House shared 4 goals in a 2-2 draw.

Division 4, see Tavern Old Boys top the table after a 6-1 win against Salhouse, Felthorpe beat Eaton Beehive Reserves 4-1. Wensum Hellies travelled to Freethorpe and picked up the 3 point winning 2-1.  The games between Sprowston Rovers and Yelverton, and Sprowston United and Marriott both ended 2-2.
