FELTHORPE DELIGHT, BUT FROST CAUSES HAVOC

After a heavy overnight frost, only a handful of games survived the whether this weekend.

One of those was the only game played in the Premier Division where Hewett OB’s went down 4-1 at home to Riverside Rovers. It was a strange game for Hewett who lost keeper Aaron Widdows with a neck injury and was replaced between the sticks by has father Paul who went on to save a penalty but then later went off injured himself after landing on his shoulder. Jordan Rocastle 2, Scott Sell and Connor Delaney were the Riverside scorers.

One game survived in Division 1 and that was at Aslacton where a hat trick from Jutty Womack and goals from Mortimer, Jones and Wyman helped the home side to a six goal victory over Mad Moose, whilst the only game to survive in Div 2 saw Bungay Town win 2-1 at DCS Rapid thanks to goals from Patrick Hudson and Brandon Ling.

In Division 3, Daniel Hawkie 2, Kyriakos Kyriakof and Ronnie Qoopre were on target as Eaton FC were 4-1 winners over Woodton Utd, whilst Steven Charles hit four of AG Athletic’s five in a nine goal thriller at Cellar House. Jack Gordon John Flynn added the fifth.

Probably the shock of the day was in Division 4 where bottom side Felthorpe recorded a 2-1 win at second placed Cringleford thanks to goals from Liam Atkins and Toby Hutchins, whilst league leaders Moose Park Rangers ran out 3-1 winners at Holt Utd to increase their lead at the top to seven points.

It was a difficult morning all round because of the frost and understandably games were lost, was but its interesting to note that those games that went ahead, apart from the 3G at Thorpe HS, delayed kick offs until 11am. Well done to all concerned.
